Have you heard of the Social Workers Benevolent Trust (SWBT)?

Have you heard of the Social Workers Benevolent Trust (SWBT)?

Hopefully you have as it’s the UK’s only charity dedicated to helping qualified social workers across the country, who are experiencing financial hardship. Social Workers your colleagues, friends, team members are those the trust is supporting with small but significant grants that help make a difference.

Many social workers are facing hardship due to sickness or disability to themselves or their children; some are fleeing domestic violence including coercive and controlling relationships.

The trust is now just over 50 years old and over this time has experienced many changes and over recent years has had an increased demand in applications for the small but significant grants that we give. For example, in the year 2020/2021 we had 174 applications paying out £72,930 and in the last year 2023/20224 we received 381 applications paying out £87,110. Figures from our annual report.

Trustees are hoping that you will help to support by donating, however small so we can carry
on with the work helping fellow professionals.
