Trustees required for SWBT

ladies in a meeting

Are you someone wanting to put something back into social work, who wants to help and support fellow social workers?

Do you have time and commitment to help understand the personal challenges faced by social workers across the UK?

Would you be able to support and reflect the values and aims of this Trust?

The Social Workers Benevolent Trust is governed by a Board of Trustees who are all volunteers. They provide the leadership to the charity and are responsible for its legal and financial governance.

The trust was established to provide support to social workers facing hardship and this is achieved by providing grants to qualified social workers.

The majority of our meetings are held virtually, as trustees are from around the UK. Each year we have 6 meetings for allocation of grants and 2 for business matters. We cannot promise that this is
an easy voluntary job as there are many applications to read through, comment upon and discuss at the meetings. Other work arises out of the general running of a charity and this work is usually covered by subgroups which we would need trustees to join.

If you are interested in taking up this challenging but rewarding work, please take a look at our website at www.swbt.uk and complete where appropriate to apply. Also see our policies and
