A welcome appreciation of Social Workers and SWBT

In June the SWBT Trustees were excited to receive a most generous grant from the Civil Service Insurance Society Charity Fund. The CSIS Charity Fund has been a regular supporter of SWBT in recent years with grants to SWBT that have helped many social workers in need of help.

The Trustees and Grants Chairman for CSIS Charity Fund, Ray Flanigan, wrote: “The Trustees approved an unrestricted grant of £20,000 to provide additional support for all that you do.

We are very much aware of the magnificent  work that social workers have carried out over these past couple of years, and we wanted you to be sure of our continuing appreciation of the work that you do in support of them. We decided to offer a little more than you bid for, in the hope that this might support your efforts to recruit and fundraise. We will obviously be keen to hear of any developments in that area, as the year goes on.

As you will appreciate from the content of my invitation letter, the Trustees have again found it very difficult this year to fully accommodate most of the bids for funding, even given the potential for reduced expectations. We have, however, made an exception in your case.”

Mr Flanigan went on to say: “In closing, I would like to congratulate you, on behalf of all our Trustees, for all the great work that you and your colleagues have undertaken, and continue to undertake, in such difficult times.”

SWBT Trustees would wish to thank Mr Flanigan and the Trustees from CSIS Charity Fund most sincerely for giving the grant to SWBT.
